Running and Winning is a Workshop for high school girls developed by the League of Women Voters Education Fund and made interactive by the League of Women Voters of Camden County (LWV Camden NJ).
The short term goal is to change girls' attitudes about politics and perhaps themselves. The long term goal is to increase the number of women running for office. Currently, women are over 50% of the population but only 15% of Congressional representatives are women.
The League of Women Voters of Camden County has conducted seven workshops and the League of Women Voters of Greater Tucson (LWVGT) has conducted three workshops. Other Leagues throughout the country are planning workshops.
